INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

A seven-goal thriller this evening and at the end of it all, it is CFC who have emerged victorious. CFC started the first half on the front foot and they were rewarded with an early goal. After that goal and as they grew in confidence, CFC threatened to double the lead but failed to find the back of the net again in the first half.

CFC started the second half the same way as they did the first half and took the game to NEUFC. However, against the run of play, NEUFC made it 1-1 six minutes into the second half. CFC responded strongly soon after conceding and took a two-goal lead. Despite having their backs against the wall, NEUFC drew level out of nowhere scoring twice in the space of six minutes.

Just when it seemed that both teams would share spoils in the last game of their season, CFC scored the winner in added time to send the home fans in frenzy. CFC will be delighted to collect all three points in their last game of the campaign and will look to put on a better showing in the next season. On the other hand, it has been a forgettable season for NEUFC and they will look to start afresh in the next season.

CFC who lead NEUFC 1-0! CFC have been dominant from the get-go and it was Rahim Ali who scored as early as the 3rd minute to put the hosts in the lead. Julius Duker has been prolific in the midfield and is pulling the strings but CFC haven't managed to get that cushion of a second goal.

Still, NEUFC didn't look like threatening the CFC goal in the first half at all but they will come back in the second half looking to turn things around as they are behind by just the one goal. CFC will hope that their final-third play improves and they can score more goals rather than just having all of the ball.

Odisha FC climbed back up into the playoff spots of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after a resounding 3-1 win against NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Friday. Goals from Nandhakumar Sekar, Victor Rodriguez, and Diego Mauricio picked up three vital points for the Juggernauts, who are now one point away from sealing their first ever playoffs qualification.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Odisha FC kicked off with Pedro Martin and Diego Mauricio up front. The attacking intent was evident, but it was NorthEast United FC who made the better start and ventured forward in the first ten minutes. The first attempt came from Jithin MS as the winger tried to bend one into the far post from the left flank but ended up firing it wide.

At the other end of the pitch, Odisha FC finally started challenging the NorthEast United FC backline. Opportunities fell to the Spanish duo of Martin and Saul Crespo but neither one of them could get their attempts on target.

But in the 36th minute, the deadlock was broken and Odisha FC took a crucial lead. Raynier Fernandes and Sahil Panwar exchanged a couple of passes after a short corner as the latter found Nandhakumar near the edge of the box. The winger took one look at goal and put his boot through the ball to find the top right corner.

NorthEast United FC had a couple of opportunities in the first ten minutes of the second half. From a corner aimed at the far post, Aaron Evans’ header was off target. Moments later, Parthib Gogoi showed excellent awareness on the right flank as he spotted an opening at the near post. The youngster tried his luck from near the touchline and forced Amrinder to readjust his footing and palm it behind for a corner.

But Odisha FC established a two-goal cushion five minutes past the hour-mark. From the right flank, Crespo squared a low ball into the box for Rodriguez. The substitute’s deft touch helped him dodge Evans before driving it past Bhattacharja seven minutes after coming on. In the last ten minutes, Laldanmawia Ralte fouled Crespo inside the box and gave away a penalty. Mauricio fired it straight down the middle to make it 3-0. In the second minute of stoppage time, a first clean sheet in eight games was snatched away from Odisha FC after Wilmar Gil fired one home from the spot following Shubham Sarangi’s foul.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Jamshedpur FC registered their third win of the season in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after beating NorthEast United FC 2-0 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Ritwik Das and Daniel Chukwu were on target as the Red Miners went within three points of East Bengal FC on the league table. The Highlanders became the first team in the Hero ISL to concede more than 44 goals in a single season.

Vincenzo Annese made three changes to his lineup with Mashoor Shereef, Mohamed Irshad and Parthib Gogoi coming in to replace Gaurav Bora, Jithin MS and Emil Benny. Aidy Boothroyd made only a solitary change as Rafael Crivellaro returned to the starting XI and Harry Sawyer dropped to the bench.

Inside the opening ten minutes, Jamshedpur FC were on the front foot. Arindam Bhattacharja parried Boris Singh’s shot from an acute angle before Jay Thomas’ powerful strike from outside the box rattled the upright. Midway through the half, NorthEast United FC finally entered the opposition’s box with Romain Philippoteaux. The attacker’s attempt lacked power, as TP Rehenesh got his body behind it easily.

Jamshedpur FC knocked on the door throughout the first half and six minutes from the break, they were rewarded. Chukwu whipped a low ball into a crowded penalty area from close range before Das tapped it into an empty net.

Jamshedpur FC doubled their advantage in the 57th minute after Crivellaro played a through ball for Chukwu to nestle into the far post. The Nigerian was involved in a clever move with Boris moments later. The Red Miners came tantalisingly close to adding a third goal, but Boris’ shot came off the bar.

At the other end of the pitch, seven minutes past the hour mark, Parthib cut into the box from the right flank and tried to curl one into the far post, but Rehenesh was at full stretch to deny him. Minutes later, substitute Jithin pulled the ball back into the path of Alex Saji inside the box, but the right-back fired it high. NorthEast United FC trod forward in the final ten minutes but were let down by poor finishing.

Mumbai City FC went seven points clear at the top of the table after a comfortable 4-0 victory over NorthEast United FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai. Ahmed Jahouh, Jorge Diaz, and Vinit Rai were on target for the Islanders. The third goal of the match was classified as an Alex Saji own goal.

The result was another example of their dominance this season - in all, Mumbai City FC have now scored 45 goals in 15 games, putting them just a goal behind FC Goa’s league stage record of 46 goals in 2019-20 with five games to go.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Des Buckingham made four changes to his side that saw Mourtada Fall, Lalengmawia Ralte, Rai and Diaz return to the starting XI to replace Rostyn Griffiths, Vignesh Dakshinamurthy, Rowllin Borges and Alberto Noguera. Vincenzo Annese made two changes that saw Romain Philippoteaux and Rochharzela replace Jon Gaztanaga and Emil Benny.

Annese tweaked his tactics specifically for Mumbai City FC, but the gamble did not pay off as the visitors found themselves three goals down inside the opening 15 minutes of the game. A deflected Ahmed Jahouh free-kick handed the hosts an early lead five minutes into the game.

Immediately after the goal, the Highlanders hovered near the Mumbai City FC box but failed to penetrate the staunch defence. Six minutes after the opener, the Islanders doubled their lead after Lallianzuala Chhangte’s tricky run was thwarted by the defence only to put the loose ball into the path of Diaz, who scored his ninth goal of the season.

After scoring the second, Diaz was involved in a smooth one-touch-pass move that ended with Greg Stewart’s shot deflected into the goal by Saji. For the second time in three weeks, Mumbai City FC had dismantled their opponents inside the opening quarter of the game.

At half-time, Rai was allowed too much space by the NorthEast United defence about 25 yards away from goal. The full-back tried his luck from range and his scorching effort flew into the top left corner of goal. The Highlanders were reduced to ten men after Wilmar Gil’s swinging arm impeded on Diaz near the halfway line straight after kick-off.

In the second half, Mumbai City FC lowered the tempo and took complete control of the game. However, the Islanders were still hovering near the NorthEast United FC box, constantly looking for openings in the defence. Three minutes from time, Diaz had the opportunity to add another goal to his tally from the penalty spot. However, the Argentine’s penalty was saved by Mirshad Michu.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Bengaluru FC have snatched a win here in the dying moments of the game. It was Alan Costa's header again that proved to be the winner between these two sides, as he did it in the reverse fixture as well.

The first half was pretty even, as both sides got a decent amount of chances but could not finish them. However, BFC, just like they did in the first half, started the second half on the front foot as well. Siva Narayanan, who missed a golden chance earlier, gave the lead to BFC with a good finish. After conceding the goal, NorthEast United FC played good football and tested the Bengaluru FC defence.

They were rewarded for their efforts when Romain Philippoteaux levelled the score with a clever free kick. It was an even game for a while after that as both teams went for the win. In the end, NEUFC pushed a lot of players up front, and their tired defence could not cope with the pace of the BFC attackers.

Alan Costa headed in the winner in the additional time to give them all three points. NEUFC were once again left empty handed, and they will need to find a way to stop conceding late goals.

Hyderabad FC earned their fourth win on the trot, a dominant 6-1 win against NorthEast United FC as they go top of the table, in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday. Javier Siverio bagged a brace, while Borja Herrera, Odei Onaindia and Joel Chianese were on target for the defending champions, with the final Hyderabad FC goal coming in the form of a Gaurav Bora own-goal.

Both sides made a solitary change to their respective sides. Mohammad Yasir returned to the starting XI for the hosts and Rohit Danu dropped to the bench. Sehnaj Singh came in to replace the suspended Jon Gaztanaga in the NorthEast United FC midfield.

Four goals were scored in the first half and the first one came in the eighth minute via Siverio. Herrera whipped a corner in over the defence before Siverio side-footed a volley past Mirshad Michu from close range.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Herrera turned from provider to scorer in the 24th minute when he cut in from the right flank before making his way past two NorthEast United FC defenders and getting his shot away. Michu got a glove to the ball but it snuck past him at the near post.

At the half-hour mark, the defending champions went three up. Herrera was at the heart of the move yet again. The Spanish midfielder’s free-kick was headed clear by Bora but only as far as Onaindia, who pounced on it and buried it past the keeper.

Five minutes later, Wilmar Jordan’s header was palmed over the bar by the keeper and a minute later, the Highlanders pulled a goal back. Hyderabad FC failed to clear the ball properly as Pragyan Gogoi played it back into the box, where Aaron Evans skipped the offside trap and slotted it past Gurmeet Singh.

In the final quarter of the game, a long diagonal came to Yasir on the left flank. The winger put in a low cross that was tapped in by Siverio. Four minutes later, substitute Joel Chianese was picked out by Halicharan Narzary and scored with his first involvement in the game.

Ten minutes from time, Chianese rose highest to head a corner towards goal. The effort was parried by the keeper towards Bora and the defender only managed to head the ball back into his own net.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

FC Goa climbed to fifth place in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after a 2-1 win over NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday.

FC Goa got off to a great start, thanks to Noah Sadaoui and Edu Bedia. Bedia made a run into the box from midfield and placed his volley into the corner after some crafty work from Sadaoui on the left flank, who found him with a perfectly weighted cross in the 10th minute.

FC Goa went 2-0 up 10 minutes later. They were awarded a free-kick at the edge of the box after a foul on Sadaoui from NorthEast United FC Mirshad Michu. Sadaoui's free-kick hit the wall, but a ricochet fell perfectly into the path of Iker Guarrotxena, who powered the ball into the net. FC Goa took the 2-0 lead into half-time.

The start to the second half was subdued. NorthEast United FC, who had ended the first half with some encouraging half-chances, were getting into the final third more often but not really troubling the FC Goa defence. FC Goa, on the other hand, were happy to string a lot of passes before waiting for an opening.

Noah Sadaoui, who had a great game, came very close to making it 3-0 to FC Goa in the 74th minute. He found space on the counter and got around the goalkeeper, but his scuffed effort hit the post.

The match ended with Wilmar Jordan winning a penalty for NorthEast United FC five minutes into stoppage time. His penalty was finely dispatched into the corner, but it wasn’t enough to win them their first points of the season.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Chennaiyin FC put in a breathtaking performance on the road in a ten-goal torrent, coming out as 7-3 victors over NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Midfielder Abdenasser El Khayati pulled all the strings for the Marina Machans, bagging a hat-trick and two assists, to set a new Hero ISL record for most goal contributions in a match.

El Khayati opened the scoring in the game, putting his team 1-0 up in the 11th minute before the Highlanders equalised, and then sealed his hat-trick with goals on either side of the half-time whistle.

Petar Sliskovic also had a fine game up front for Chennaiyin FC with a brace, with one of his goals set up by El Khayati. Julius Duker was the other beneficiary of El Khayati's stellar show, bagging a 68th minute goal to wrap up a near-perfect attacking performance. Joe Zoherliana (79’) had a night to forget, guiding the ball into his own net to give Chennaiyin FC their seventh goal of the evening.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

New NorthEast United FC head coach Vincenzo Annese was taking charge of his team for the first time following the departure of Marco Balbul. It was a difficult start to his time in charge, but there were some positives to take back from the game. Wilmar Gil Jordan was on target for NorthEast United FC from the penalty spot and Romain Philippoteaux smashed in a great volley in the second-half. Rochharzela added another goal for the Highlanders five minutes into stoppage time. But ultimately, all of it came much too late.

Their early momentum was disrupted by El Khayati, who got on the end of an excellent cut-back from Prasanth K from the right flank. Khayati’s guided volley effort set the tone for his performance.

El Khayati, Sliskovic, and Rahim Ali were a constant threat with El Khayati getting his second four minutes after Jordan’s equaliser, and Sliskovic getting his first just before half-time. El Khayati’s second was a brilliant bending effort. Sliskovic’s brace included two headers, with his first coming from an excellent near-post run. Chennaiyin FC were heading into the second-half with a 3-1 lead.

Whatever resolve NorthEast United FC had earlier in the game was lost quite early in the second with El Khayati completing his hat-trick three minutes into the second-half with a driven effort from range. Sliskovic made it 5-1 for Chennaiyin FC in the 57th minute with another thumping header. Julius Duker joined the party 11 minutes later to put Chennaiyin FC 6-1 ahead. The next three goals in the game all came from NorthEast United FC, two in their favor and one in Chennaiyin's.

Odisha FC nabbed three consecutive wins for the first time this season as they edged NorthEast United FC 2-1 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday. Nandhakumar Sekar scored his fourth goal of the season to put the Juggernauts in front in the 25th minute before substitute Rochharzela scored with his first touch to make it all square in the 60th minute. Jerry Mawihmingthanga scored Odisha FC’s 99th Hero ISL goal in the 78th minute to lift the Juggernauts up into second place.

Odisha FC got their noses in front in the 25th minute courtesy of Sekar, who got on the scoresheet for the third successive game. Raynier Fernandes slid a through ball into the box for Mauricio, who whipped a low ball across the face of goal, and Sekar was at the far post to tap it into an empty net.

An equaliser came in the second half when Rochharzela scored just five minutes after coming on. Right-back Joe Zoherliana played a low ball into the box. The ball missed everyone and found its way to Rochharzela, who scored with his first touch at the hour-mark and drew the Highlanders level.

In the 73rd minute, the offside flag denied Odisha FC a goal. However, a goal did come for the Juggernauts just five minutes after that incident. Crespo unleashed a shot at goal, which was parried by the keeper straight to Jerry, who picked his spot and put the hosts back in front.

Mumbai City FC went to the top of the table after a comfortable 3-1 win over NorthEast United FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. Ahmed Jahouh, Bipin Singh, and Jorge Diaz got their names on the scoresheet for the Islanders, while Parthib Gogoi scored his first goal for NorthEast United FC. New signing Wilmar Jordan came on to make his debut for the Highlanders in the 57th minute but they were already 3-1 down and the striker couldn’t assert his presence in the game.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

The hosts switched their formation to a 4-3-3 and made just one change as Rochharzela came in to replace Emil Benny. The visitors also made one change that saw Lalengmawia Ralte drop to the bench as Vinit Rai took his spot in the midfield.

A penalty was awarded to Mumbai City FC in the 10th minute after Greg Stewart was clipped by Rochharzela just outside the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Jahouh smashed it in to put the Islanders in front.

The lead did not last for a long time as a sloppy pass from Mehtab Singh went straight to Romain Philippoteaux. The Frenchman instantly put Gogoi through on goal before the youngster kept his composure and put away the leveller with aplomb in the 17th minute.

In the 28th minute, the Islanders were back in front. Stewart was the architect again as he whipped in a ball into the box from the right flank. The ball found its way to Bipin, who headed it in at the far post to restore Mumbai City FC’s advantage.

Thirty seconds into the second half, a two-goal cushion was established. Bipin went down the left side and got his shot away. The effort was parried by Mirshad Michu, but Diaz was in the right place at the right time to score for the Islanders.

In the final quarter of the game, a plethora of opportunities fell to Mumbai City FC, but they could not add another goal to their tally. The Islanders attempted a total of 22 shots in the game, out of which 13 were on target.

The coaches did not make any changes heading into the second half, but the two teams showed more directness by taking a few shots early in the half. The plan paid off for Kerala Blasters in the 56th minute. Saurav Mandal was played through by Rahul KP, and Mandal’s shot was met by Diamantakos, who added the finishing touch to an excellent team move.

NorthEast United FC came extremely close to equalising twice in the space of two minutes. The first chance fell to Imran Khan, who got on the end of a brilliant cross, but could not get the right connection. Emil Benny got on the end of an even better chance a minute later after being played through by Matt Derbyshire. Despite rounding off the goalkeeper, Benny’s touch was too heavy, and ultimately not even resulting in a shot.

COACHES REACTION REGARDING THE MATCH
MARCO BALBUL
"We have a really good team that can win tomorrow. We will come with the right attitude - the right approach. The players have shown me in training that they are concentrating and very committed, and it will be a tough match, but we want three points tomorrow.

East Bengal are a very good team with good players, especially in the attack and are very organised with a very good coach. Every game in this league is not easy, it is very tiring and tough. We come to play our game, with our style at home. With our fans cheering for us, we need to make a big effort to get the first win and open our account for the new season. It will not be easy, but we can do that.

We had one injury concern during the beginning of the season, but now all the players are in good condition. I have the whole squad to work with and I'm happy about that.

STEPHEN CONSTANTINE

I watched them back. I thought North east United were extremely unlucky in the first match. At least not to get a point. They work very, very hard off the ball and it will not be an easy game as there are no easy games in this league. So, we will be disciplined, we will be aggressive and we will try to win the game and come home with all the three points.

If we will play really badly in both games, I would be worried. But we haven't and we have shown some good moments in both games. So, I'm optimistic that we can play better and get and get the right result. You are not going to win all the games that you play, that's for sure. But in both the games we had some very good moments particularly with goal in the second half and I think if we can produce that kind of play, good things are going to happen. As you said, we need to put those performances together and at the moment we haven't done that.

East Bengal fans are everywhere, and we need them to come and support us home or away, and hopefully, they will not have to wait much longer for the first win.

Hyderabad FC secured their first win of the season after a dominant 3-0 victory over NorthEast United FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. Hyderabad FC dominated the game as Bartholomew Ogbeche, Halicharan Narzary and Borja Herrera got their names on the scoresheet. They finished the game with nine shots on target while NEUFC could only muster two.

In the 13th minute, there was a sign of what was to come for the Highlanders on the night, when Mohamed Irshad brought Halicharan Narzary down on the left flank and had his name taken by the referee. From the resulting freekick, Mohammad Yasir whipped a beautiful ball into the box and Bartholomew Ogbeche simply side-footed the ball into the back of the net to give the defending champions an early lead.

Five minutes into the second half, Ogbeche and Siverio played a sublime one-two before the former was taken down inside the box by Gaurav Bora, and the referee immediately pointed to the spot. Ogbeche stepped up to take the penalty but Bhattacharja went the correct way to deny the Nigerian, keeping the Highlanders in the game briefly.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

In the 69th minute, yet another instance of sloppiness from NorthEast United FC resulted in a goal-scoring chance that was successfully taken. Bhattacharja rolled the ball towards Bora, who was robbed of it by Narzary. The 28-year-old kept his composure and slotted in Hyderabad FC’s 100th Hero ISL goal. Four minutes later, Narzary combined well with substitute Borja Herrera on the left flank. Herrera scored Hyderabad FC’s third goal of the evening, just two minutes after coming on.

Hyderabad FC's dominance could have resulted in more goals. Four minutes from regulation time, striker Ogbeche rattled the crossbar and the play only resulted in a goal kick. The final scoreline was only the second instance of a team this season not managing to get on the scoresheet, with the previous instance also involving NorthEast United FC.
