Bengaluru FC record their eighth win on the trot and put a dagger through the hearts of FC Goa. The hosts have knocked out FCG from the playoffs. Odisha FC meanwhile would be thanking their lucky stars, as they make it through to the playoffs. Sree Kanteerava Stadium continues to be a curse for FC Goa and they are yet to win a single match in this stadium in the history of the competition.
BFC seal a top four finish, which will prove to be very important during the playoffs. Siva Narayanan handed the hosts an early lead, although FC Goa fought back hard and got an equalizer through Iker Guarrotxena. It was all level at half-time. FCG looked positive after resumption but BFC grew into the game and caused a lot of trouble. Siva Narayanan doubled their lead and later, Pablo Perez got himself on the scoresheet coming off the bench to put the game to bed.
A very exciting half comes to an end with the scores level in this crucial game for both teams. Bengaluru FC started on the front foot and created a few openings for themselves. However, the first goal came from a set-piece when Siva Narayanan found himself free inside the box from a corner and headed in to give the lead to the home side.
FC Goa picked their game up after going behind and started asking questions to the BFC defense, where Gurpreet Sandhu had to make a couple of good saves. Iker Guarrotxena looked like a man on a mission for FC Goa, and he equalised with a brilliant header. Both teams had a few more chances in the half, but their finishing was not up to par. There were a couple of rash tackles, and things heated up in the middle as the stakes are high in this game.
These two sides will come out and try to go all out for the win, but FC Goa needs it the most to make it to the playoffs. We can expect another fine half of football. Will we get a winner here?

Unstoppable Mumbai City FC clinches Hero ISL League Shield in style with dominant win over FC Goa
Mumbai City FC faced a brief challenge from FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday, but fittingly overcame it with a goal-streak to sum up a remarkable season so far, sealing their second Hero ISL League Shield with a 5-3 win. In the process, Mumbai City FC also broke FC Goa's record of 51 goals in an ISL season with at least four games left in the bank.
FC Goa were determined not to make Mumbai's title charge easy, trying to beat them with their own attacking method. They found success with this approach as early as the 5th minute. A long free kick found its way to Noah Sadaoui, who danced past three defenders and composed himself to put the home team ahead.
But the league leaders weren't quiet for long. In the 18th minute, they were gifted a free kick just outside the box in a central position. Greg Stewart stepped up and hit a powerful left-footed shot to Dheeraj Singh's near post to beat his outstretched right hand.
Both teams continued to push forward and looked shaky in defence, and in a four-minute span before the break, the game exploded into life. In the 40th minute, Diaz was found with a good low delivery from Lallianzuala Chhangte on the right and hooked the ball from the floor to put the Islanders in front.
Their joy was short-lived, as FC Goa caught them out with a long ball again. Sadaoui turned creator, finding Brandon Fernandes' run with a lob over the defence to put him one-on-one with Phurba Lachenpa. Fernandes made no mistake with his first touch and the hosts were level again. But Stewart was on hand again to put Mumbai City FC in front with his second free-kick of the game, this one a more gentle curling effort that bounced off the post into the goal.
In the second half, Mumbai City FC tightened up to nullify FC Goa, forcing the home side to take risks going forward, which helped Chhangte in particular to come into the game. In the 71st minute, the winger found space for a cross which was handled in the box by Anwar Ali. He stepped up to take it himself to get to double-figures in the season and put the game beyond FC Goa.
By the 77th minute, the Islanders had both Chhangte and Stewart off the pitch, but the substitutes ran circles around FC Goa anyway. From a corner, Mourtada Fall headed the ball into Vikram Pratap Singh's path in front of the goal, and he flicked it in to make it 5-2. Against the run of play, Brison Fernandes found the back of the net from Alvaro Vazquez's pull back, but the show would stop with that eighth goal.

SECOND HALF: FC Goa registered an important win against East Bengal FC at home and confirmed their position within the top six teams in the league. FC Goa increased the lead just after the half time to 4-0 while East Bengal FC equalised twice at the later stages of the second half.
Brandon Fernandez increased the lead to 4-0 when his curling free kick from age of the 18 yards beat Kamaljit.FC Goa could have increased the lead in a number of occasions, twice the goal post denied them to score.
East Bengal FC equalised twice when Suhair scored of a cross from Mahesh Singh from the left and Sarthak Golui scored of a corner from Mahesh from the right. FC Goa are now with 23 points are placed at the 5th position, while East Bengal FC are still at the 9th position with 12 points.
FIRST HALF: At the end of first half FC Goa are dominating the match and leading by a margin of 3-0 against East Bengal at Fatorda.Iker Guarrotxena scores the first half hat-trick in the Hero ISL. This is probably the quickest hat-trick in the history of Indian Super League.
Iker scored his first goal at the 9th minute of the match urilising a error in East Bengal defense. A pass from from the right by Devandra was artially saved by Lalchununga and Noah Wail passes it to Iker to did the rest. Iker scored his second goal at the 21st minute when his header of a cross from Noah Wail went inside the goal. Iker competed his hat-trik a minute later when his lob of a pass from Samson hit the post and finds the target.
It was really a miserable performance by the central defenders of East Bengal as they failed to react in front of the well combined moves of FC Goa and had no answer to respond. East Bengal FC had a couple of chances in the first session which was wasted by Sumeet Passi and Mobashir Rahaman.

FC Goa got some respite in the playoff race after clinching crucial three points against Kerala Blasters in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Sunday. Goals from Iker Guarrotxena, Noah Sadaoui and Redeem Tlang helped the Gaurs end their four-game winless run in the Hero ISL as they leapfrogged Odisha FC to fifth and went four points clear of Bengaluru FC in seventh. Meanwhile, the Blasters suffered back-to-back defeats in the Hero ISL for the first time since October.
In the opening half-hour, Kerala Blasters were unable to test the keeper while their own shot-stopper Prabhsukhan Gill was forced into making a solitary save. Moments after the half-hour mark, Brandon Fernandes won a penalty after contact with Saurav Mandal in the box.
Guarrotxena went straight down the middle to score from the spot kick, for his seventh goal of the season. The goal put the hosts in front and was also the 150th Hero ISL goal scored by FC Goa at the Fatorda Stadium.
Ten minutes from the break, Gill came sprinting out of his penalty area to get to the ball first, but Sadaoui flicked it past him before seeing his shot blocked by Ruivah Hormipam. The Moroccan did get his goal just three minutes later when he pounced on a poor Sandeep Singh pass, beat Hormipam, and opened up his body to slot it past Gill to double the hosts’ advantage.
Having gone multiple goals down in the first half for the second consecutive game, Kerala Blasters came out with purpose, and Dimitrios Diamantakos was the man to get on the sheet in the 51st minute. Adrian Luna was the creator, whipping in a free kick from the left flank that saw the Greek striker nod the ball in from close range.
But FC Goa created the decisive touch to deflate the Blasters in the 69th minute. On the counter, Brandon held the ball as Sadaoui made a dummy run to draw the defenders away, opening up space for Tlang on the right flank. The substitute paced into the box and drove it past Gill to breach his far post.
Ten minutes later, a crucial goal line clearance from Sanson Pereira denied Nihal Sudeesh his first goal for the club and kept the two-goal advantage intact. Eight minutes were added on at the end of regulation time during which the Blasters probed forward but failed to create anything substantial as they suffered a second successive defeat.

Bartholomew Ogbeche produced a vintage performance as Hyderabad FC went back to top of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) table once again after beating FC Goa 3-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Thursday.
Ogbeche, who had previously scored only three goals in the season coming into the game, put Hyderabad FC in front on two occasions before sealing the result at the end.
Both teams got off to a slow start in this fixture. Neither had created any big chances in the first 15 minutes, but Hyderabad FC have never needed to be in control of the game to score goals, and they showed that once again. Halicharan Narzary picked out Ogbeche from the left flank, and the Nigerian striker placed his header to perfection to give Hyderabad FC the lead in the 20th minute.
FC Goa got their first real chance in the 28th minute. Edu Bedia played an outstanding pass from deep in midfield, but Noah Sadaoui couldn’t find the right contact. The half-chance led to a period where FC Goa made inroads into the final third more often but could not turn that into big chances. Hyderabad FC were happy to sit back, get into a compact shape, and wait for the half-time whistle. The half ended with Hyderabad FC leading 1-0.
In the 54th minute, Sadaoui and Iker Guarrotxena combined to test Hyderabad FC's goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh, who made a great save to deny Guarrotxena's volley after picking up a pass from the left. Moments later, FC Goa came up with a similar move but found success. Sadaoui held up the ball on the left before floating it for a rushing Redeem Tlang to power the ball into the back of the net and level the score.
The game had opened up by now, and Hyderabad FC had a great chance to take the lead a few minutes later, thanks to Joel Chianese, but his shot was cleared off the line by Aibanbha Dohling. Sadaoui was finding a lot of joy on the left flank in the second half, and Hyderabad FC seemed to have no answers for him. On one occasion it looked like he’d set up Mohamed Fares to take the lead, but the goal was chalked offside.
FC Goa enjoyed most of the possession but weren’t able to turn that into goals. Ogbeche made them pay for it by putting Hyderabad FC in the lead in the 79th minute. The ISL’s all-time top goalscorer got on the end of a rebound and smashed the ball into the roof of the net to give Hyderabad FC the lead. He got his hat-trick in the 90th minute and confirmed the three points for Hyderabad FC with a sublime header.

Despite an enthralling final few minutes, it ends 2-2 tonight between JFC and FCG. Playing in front of their home crowd, JFC came out with a clear game plan and showed some positive signs straightaway. They began the game on the front foot with plenty of early chances but failed to make it count. JFC eventually opened the scoring when Iker Vallejo’s found the back of his own net. However, Iker Vallejo redeemed himself and scored to draw FCG level with JFC.
Post the resumption, it was JFC that took the lead once again when Ishan Pandita pounced on an error by the FCG keeper and rolled the ball in the goal. It was end-to-end stuff post that goal but neither side managed to find the back of the net. With just a minute plus added time remaining in the game, JFC were on course to register their second win of the season. However, Iker Vallejo had other plans and got on the scoresheet yet again to make it 2-2. FCG did threaten to find the winner towards the end but were denied by the JFC defense.
So, JFC and FCG collect a point each from tonight’s fixture. JFC will be gutted with this result and now shift focus to their next game against Kerala Blasters FC.

FC Goa climbed to fifth place in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after a 2-1 win over NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday.
FC Goa got off to a great start, thanks to Noah Sadaoui and Edu Bedia. Bedia made a run into the box from midfield and placed his volley into the corner after some crafty work from Sadaoui on the left flank, who found him with a perfectly weighted cross in the 10th minute.
FC Goa went 2-0 up 10 minutes later. They were awarded a free-kick at the edge of the box after a foul on Sadaoui from NorthEast United FC Mirshad Michu. Sadaoui's free-kick hit the wall, but a ricochet fell perfectly into the path of Iker Guarrotxena, who powered the ball into the net. FC Goa took the 2-0 lead into half-time.
The start to the second half was subdued. NorthEast United FC, who had ended the first half with some encouraging half-chances, were getting into the final third more often but not really troubling the FC Goa defence. FC Goa, on the other hand, were happy to string a lot of passes before waiting for an opening.
Noah Sadaoui, who had a great game, came very close to making it 3-0 to FC Goa in the 74th minute. He found space on the counter and got around the goalkeeper, but his scuffed effort hit the post.
The match ended with Wilmar Jordan winning a penalty for NorthEast United FC five minutes into stoppage time. His penalty was finely dispatched into the corner, but it wasn’t enough to win them their first points of the season.

FC Goa broke their losing streak and put an end to Odisha FC's winning after a comfortable 3-0 win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday. Substitute Brison Fernandes broke the deadlock with his first touch in the 74th minute before Noah Sadaoui and Alvaro Vazquez wrapped up the three points for the Gaurs. The Juggernauts were reduced to ten men in the 65th minute when Nandhakumar Sekar was shown a second yellow, and FC Goa made the visitors pay with all three goals coming after.
The visitors kept more of the ball during the first half and had more chances to score. The first came six minutes into the game when Osama Malik dinked the ball across the face of goal before Martin missed it whilst attempting the spectacular. The ball was eventually volleyed at goal by Narender Gahlot and beaten off the line by Anwar Ali.
Six minutes from the break, the ball was cleared off the line again. This time it was Ayush Chhetri who came to FC Goa’s rescue. Dheeraj Singh missed the ball from an inswinging corner completely as Saul Crespo’s goal-bound header was kneed onto the upright by Chhetri.
At the other end, against the run of play, Brandon Fernandes put Iker Guarrotxena through on goal. However, Carlos Delgado’s tackle allowed Amrinder Singh to sprint forward and parry it away from the Spaniard. But the ball was parried straight to Sadaoui, who failed to get the ball into an empty goal from near the edge of the box in the 42nd minute.
Five minutes past the hour mark, The Juggernauts were reduced to ten men after a challenge by Nandhakumar Sekar on Princeton Rebello saw him receive a second yellow. In the 74th minute, Seriton Fernandes played a through ball down the right flank, and Sadaoui pounced on it before pulling it back for substitute Brison. With his first touch, Brison smashed the ball in at the near post to give his side the lead.
Four minutes later, FC Goa doubled their lead courtesy of Sadaoui. Seriton played another sublime cross towards Vazquez, whose effort came off the crossbar. Amrinder punched the rebound only as far as Sadaoui, who finished powerfully. In the final minute, Sadaoui slid Vazquez through on goal, and the striker put the game to bed.

Mumbai City FC unleashed a barrage of goals on the opposition yet again as they beat FC Goa 4-1 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday. Pereyra Diaz’s brace took him to the top of the league’s goalscorers chart this season, while Lallianzuala Chhangte and Alberto Noguera also got on the scoresheet. Iker Guarrotxena was the lone scorer for the Gaurs where Edu Bedia went on to be shown a second yellow card in the 79th minute.
For the eighth time in nine games, Mumbai City FC scored the first goal of the game. Brandon Fernandes was caught napping on the ball as Rahul Bheke’s challenge put it into Greg Stewart’s path. The Scot saw the run of Diaz and played a perfectly weighted pass through to the striker, who tucked it in at the far post in the 16th minute. Six minutes later, Phurba Lachenpa’s fumble from a 25-yard Guarrotxena shot allowed FC Goa to draw level.
The Islanders retook the lead three minutes before the break. Left-back Aibanbha Dohling failed to intercept Ralte’s ball to Chhangte on the right. The winger drew a few defenders in before dribbling past them and curling the ball into the net with his left foot.
After scoring three minutes before the break, Diaz ensured Mumbai City FC scored three minutes after the break as well. Chhangte turned provider for this one as he squared it for Diaz inside the box. The Argentine striker adjusted his footing and picked his spot to bag his sixth goal of the season.
FC Goa were stuck on the back foot and didn’t recover. A quickly taken corner seven minutes later was cleared only as far as Noguera on the edge of the box. The Spaniard pulled the trigger from range and buried a curler past Dheeraj Singh. The evening did not end well for his compatriot on the other team, as Bedia received a second yellow for kicking the ball away, and the Gaurs finished with ten men.

A Javi Hernandez brace ended Bengaluru FC’s five-match winless and four-match goalless run as they picked up a 2-0 win against FC Goa in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. The Blues also nabbed their first clean sheet since their season opener as they handed the Gaurs their first home defeat of the season.
Javi Hernandez broke the deadlock and ended Bengaluru FC’s goal drought in the 27th minute. Anwar Ali was closed down by Roy Krishna as he brought the ball out defence - Krishna put Hernandez through on goal and the Spaniard calmly slotted it past Dheeraj Singh to give the Blues their first goal since Matchweek 2.
In the 37th minute, Gurpreet was at full stretch to push Vazquez’s free-kick away to safety. At the other end, in first-half stoppage time, Dheeraj came darting out of the box towards the right flank and took Krishna out. The FC Goa shot-stopper only saw a yellow card for his foul on the Fijian striker.
In the second half, FC Goa started on the front foot. However, it was Bengaluru FC who doubled their advantage in the 57th minute. As the Gaurs swarmed forward, the Blues broke on the counter with Udanta Singh, who dinked it through to Hernandez. The Spaniard entered the box, rounded the keeper, and calmly slotted the ball into an empty net.
Ten minutes from time, Krishna received a long ball from defence and tried to chip it over the keeper. The ball sailed over the keeper and was inches away from the far post. At the other end, in the next minute, Ali rocketed one towards the top-left corner of goal. Gurpreet Singh produced a timely save as he got fingertips on it and put it behind for a corner.

Kerala Blasters ended their 10-game winless streak that spanned 6 years, against FC Goa with an assertive 3-1 victory in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, their first since November 2016. Goals from Adrian Luna, Dimitrios Diamantakos and Ivan Kaliuzhnyi within the space of ten minutes secured all three points for the Blasters. Noah Sadaoui scored for the Gaurs.
Both sides’ defences were on top until the 42nd minute when Luna fired the hosts in front. Rahul KP’s cross from the right flank missed Luna’s diving header before it reached Samad. The winger’s off-balance shot rolled into the path of Luna who tapped it in from close range.
Decibels went through the roof moments later as the Blasters were awarded a penalty at the stroke of half-time. Diamantakos was taken out by Anwar Ali after the Gaurs failed to clear their lines. The Greek striker stepped up to take it and sent Dheeraj Moirangthem the wrong way from the spot.
In the 52nd minute, Ivan Kaliuzhnyi went top of the Hero ISL goals chart with a long-range screamer. Diamantakos squared the ball into the path of Kaliuzhnyi. The Ukrainian was allowed space and time to pull the trigger with his left foot and Dheeraj had no chance of stopping the curling effort. The Gaurs pulled one back in the 67th minute. Seriton Fernandes found an unmarked Sadaoui with a lofted cross into the box. The winger kept his header on target and pulled a goal back for his side, but the Gaurs couldn’t manufacture any substantial chances after that one. The solitary goal helped FC Goa’s goal difference enough to retain the fourth spot.

FC Goa’s first game at home this season was a joyous one as they defeated Jamshedpur FC 3-0 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. Iker Guarrotxena and Noah Wail Sadaoui scored inside the first 15 minutes, and Brison Fernandes scored in the 93rd minute to give FC Goa a win on their return home.
FC Goa were off to a flyer as Guarrotxena scored after just two minutes. Brandon Fernandes played a short corner to Edu Bedia on the right flank. The Spaniard whipped a cross in as the ball missed a cheeky flick from Redeem Tlang before finding Guarrotxena, whose decisive tap-in put the Gaurs ahead.
Ten minutes into the game, the hosts were dealt a blow after Arnaout was stretchered off and replaced by midfielder Glan Martins. Head coach Carlos Pena did not tweak the formation as Martins slotted in as a centre-back.
Before the Red Miners could capitalise on this opportunity, the Gaurs established a two-goal cushion just two minutes after the substitution. Brandon found Noah Wail Sadaoui with a sublime defence-splitting pass from midfield. The striker kept his left-footed strike low and hard to double FC Goa’s advantage.
Towards the end of the first half, Wellington Priori dodged his marker and unleashed a shot at goal. Dheeraj matched it with a decent save. At the other end, Sadoui continued to be a menace for the Jamshedpur FC defence. In first-half stoppage time, Sadoui crossed the ball in from the left flank before Tiang’s header was tipped over the bar by Rehenesh.
In the second half, Jamshedpur FC head coach Aidy Boothroyd reverted to a 4-4-2 as he took Sabia and Jitendra off and brought Sawyer and Pratik on. Ten minutes in, striker Jay Thomas replaced midfielder Priori in an effort to add more attacking impetus to the team. However, the Gaurs were able to keep all attackers at bay.
FC Goa gave their fans another reason to celebrate with a third goal in second-half stoppage time. Substitutes combined as Saviour Gama played a low ball towards Brison. Only five minutes after coming on, Brison controlled the ball at his feet before smashing it past Rehenesh in the 93rd minute.

Hyderabad FC retained their place at the top of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) table after a 1-0 victory over FC Goa at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad today. Javier Siverio (‘10) scored the only goal of the game, whereas FC Goa’s Alvaro Vazquez, who had come on as a substitute, missed a great chance to get an equaliser after sending his penalty wide in the 83rd minute.
Half-time ended with Hyderabad FC taking a 1-0 lead. FC Goa head coach Carlos Pena made a double switch before heading into the second-half. Marc Hernandez and Redeem Tlang made way for Mohamed Fares Arnaout and Makan Chothe.
The second-half started with both sides showing greater urgency. Hyderabad FC were more aggressive, attempting to put FC Goa on the backfoot by overloading the flanks. FC Goa were also less patient in their build-up, looking to play the ball in behind more often.
Noah Sadaoui was found clear on goal four minutes later for FC Goa, but some good work from Kattimani once again, who was quick off his line, forced the Morrocan to delay his shot, and take it from a difficult angle.
FC Goa made another double switch later in the half. Noah Sadaoui and Brandon Fernandes made way for Alvaro Vazquez and Brison Fernandes. Hyderabad FC were the better side for the next 10 minutes, getting into the final third with more ease, but were unable to fashion some clear goalscoring opportunities.
Not long after, FC Goa were given a penalty against the run of play. Akash Mishra went flying into the path of Alvaro Vazquez in the box. Vazquez took it upon himself to take the penalty, but his shot went wide.
The game was quite frenetic for the next couple of minutes. Six minutes of added time were signalled, during which Edu Bedia had a chance to equalise in the 95th minute after being found on the far post, but Laxmikant Kattimani denied him with a brilliant save. The match ended 1-0 to Hyderabad FC.

FC Goa scored in both halves to beat Chennaiyin FC 2-0 to secure their second successive win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. With two wins in two, FC Goa go to the top of the table and are the only team with a 100% win record this season. Redeem Tlang scored in the 11th minute and Noah Sadaoui wrapped it up for the Gaurs in the 92nd minute.
It did not take long for the match's first goal as FC Goa took the lead in the 10th minute. Sadaoui found himself at the end of a beautiful long pass from the middle third. The Moroccan was marked tightly by Fallou Diagne, but he used his quick feet to put a cross in from the left before Redeem Tlang nodded the ball into the net.
Attackers from both sides were kept at bay till the 90-minute mark. Twelve minutes were added on to account for a stoppage due to Dheeraj Singh's injury treatment as the hosts swarmed forward. However, that left them vulnerable at the back, and the Gaurs quickly capitalized on that. In the second minute of stoppage time, Sadaoui put the game to bed with a composed finish.

COACHES REACTION BEFORE THE MATCH:
STEPHEN CONSTANTINE
11.10.22: We are in a rebuilding process. We finished last, last year, second to bottom two years ago. We got some moments in the first game. I don't say we are anyway near where we will be at the end of the season but how you start the season is not how you finish it. The players will have a better understanding of what they have to do.
e are together as a team for the last four weeks. I thought for 70 mins against Kerala Blasters FC who are together now for two years, I thought we were okay. Other teams would have surrendered and conceded 4-5 goals. But we didn't because we are not that type of team. We had two players Tuhin Das and Lalchhungnunga play for the first time in Hero ISL.
I know how important the team is for the community. My old friend Subhash Bhowmick would tell me you need to come and coach East Bengal FC one day. It would be good if he was here to see this. It's a massive responsibility, none more than the Indian team.

10.10.22: We’re really excited about the start of the new season. We had a good, lengthy pre-season where we worked hard on ourselves, and now we’re looking forward to the matches.
East Bengal may have lost their first match, but the fact that they’re going to play in front of their own fans is one of the reasons that makes them strong. It’s going to be a challenge for us, but we will be brave. The game is important for both teams.
