A seven-goal thriller this evening and at the end of it all, it is CFC who have emerged victorious. CFC started the first half on the front foot and they were rewarded with an early goal. After that goal and as they grew in confidence, CFC threatened to double the lead but failed to find the back of the net again in the first half.
CFC started the second half the same way as they did the first half and took the game to NEUFC. However, against the run of play, NEUFC made it 1-1 six minutes into the second half. CFC responded strongly soon after conceding and took a two-goal lead. Despite having their backs against the wall, NEUFC drew level out of nowhere scoring twice in the space of six minutes.
Just when it seemed that both teams would share spoils in the last game of their season, CFC scored the winner in added time to send the home fans in frenzy. CFC will be delighted to collect all three points in their last game of the campaign and will look to put on a better showing in the next season. On the other hand, it has been a forgettable season for NEUFC and they will look to start afresh in the next season.
CFC who lead NEUFC 1-0! CFC have been dominant from the get-go and it was Rahim Ali who scored as early as the 3rd minute to put the hosts in the lead. Julius Duker has been prolific in the midfield and is pulling the strings but CFC haven't managed to get that cushion of a second goal.
Still, NEUFC didn't look like threatening the CFC goal in the first half at all but they will come back in the second half looking to turn things around as they are behind by just the one goal. CFC will hope that their final-third play improves and they can score more goals rather than just having all of the ball.

Chennaiyin FC handed FC Goa a second defeat on the trot and dealt a massive dent in their playoff qualification hopes in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) with a 2-1 win at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday. Kwame Karikari bagged a brace as the Gaurs remained in sixth place, level on points with Odisha FC, who can replace them in the final playoff spot if they avoid defeat in Guwahati on Friday.
Ten minutes into the match, it was Chennaiyin FC who drew first blood. Julius Duker rode Edu Bedia’s tackle in midfield before sliding an inch-perfect through pass to Vincy Barretto on the left flank. The winger picked out Karikari with a low ball and he side-footed it home.
Five minutes after the goal, at the other end of the pitch, Samik Mitra spilled the ball inside a crowded penalty area and Devendra Murgaonkar was the first to react and get his shot away, but it was blocked and eventually cleared to safety. That was one of the shots FC Goa attempted in the first half but went in at the break without anything.
Noah Sadaoui was wreaking havoc down the left flank, getting 22 touches in the final third in the first half. The Moroccan whipped in nine crosses in the first half but none of them resulted in anything substantial. One of those crosses came after Mitra parried Brandon Fernandes’ long-range goal-bound freekick into the path of the winger. It was headed wide by Bedia.
Four minutes into the second half, Sadaoui brought FC Goa level. Bedia played a long ball out towards the left flank from the midfield. Sadaoui escaped his marker, brought it down and powered it into the net. Minutes later, the Moroccan tried to replicate the move but this time Edwin Vanspaul was alert and thwarted his attempt.
In the 72nd minute, Anirudh Thapa won the race with Dheeraj Moirangthem to reach a loose back pass from Bedia. As Thapa took the ball away from goal, Dheeraj took the midfielder out and conceded a penalty. Karikari stepped up to take the spot kick and pocketed his second goal of the evening, which turned out to be the winner.
FC Goa are hanging by a thread in the playoff race now and will play Bengaluru FC next on February 23. A loss for the Gaurs has confirmed playoff qualification for the Blues and Kerala Blasters. Chennaiyin FC are now within three points of FC Goa. The Marina Machans are out of the playoff race but can finish level on points with the Gaurs at the end of the season. They will finish their Hero ISL season against NorthEast United FC on February 24.

SECOND HALF: Two important goals scored in the second session finally sealed the fate in favour of Chennaiyin FC against East Bengal FC at home. Chennaiyin FC got the lead just after the start of the second session when the ball defected of Lalchulnunga of a cross from Aniruddh Thapa went inside the goal.
Rahim Ali increaed the lead for Chennaiyin FC utilising a forward pass from Edwin Vanspal at the 86th minute of the match. East Bengal FC's central defense looked unsettled in front of the speedy attack of Chennaiyin FC right from the start of the second session. The home team wasted an easy opportunity when Karikari's header of a cross from Vincy Bareto cleared from the goal line by Charis Kyriakou.
East Bengal FC on the contrary looked unimpressive in the second session, hardly create any impact in the home team's defense.
FIRST HALF: It was a dominated performance by Chennaiyin FC in the first half an hour of the match. The home team played a number of passes inside the East Bengal FC half created a number of openings to score spearheaded by Vincy Bareto, Kwame Karikari and Aniruddh Thapa. Chennaiyin FC could have opened their score sheet at the second minute of the match when Fallou Diagene's push of a corner hit the bar. But the easiest chance for the home team wasted by Vincy Bareto at the 17th minute of the match. Vincy got the better from Jerry got past Kamaljit but failed to place the ball in open goal.
East Bengal came back in the match strongly at the later stages of the first session created chances to score. V.P.Suhair missed an easy opportunity to score of a pass from Mahesh Singh with only Saumik Mitra, the Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper in front of him. Jake Jarvis was unlucky as his shot of a lob from Mahesh Singh missed the target by a whisker.

Kerala Blasters FC secured a 2-1 come-from-behind win against Chennaiyin FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday. Abdenasser El Khayati netted the fastest goal of the season to put the visitors in front before Adrian Luna cancelled it out with a stunning curling effort in the 38th minute, and then set up Rahul KP’s strike in the 64th minute.
Two minutes into the game, El Khayati silenced the stands with his ninth goal of the season. Victor Mongil failed to deal with a long ball that was eventually played into the path of El Khayati by Petar Sliskovic. The Dutchman danced with the ball at the edge of the box before dispatching it into the net off the upright.
The stadium erupted in the 38th minute when parity was restored. Anirudh Thapa intercepted Rahul KP’s pass to Samad inside the box before the stray ball went straight to Luna, who pounced on it and curled it into the top right corner.
Seconds after Brdaric threw a couple of substitutions on the pitch to change things around, the game turned on its head. Adrian Luna whipped a cross into the box from the right flank before Rahul KP squeezed it past Samik Mitra in the 64th minute.
In the final quarter of the game, El Khayati and substitute Prasanth K kept trying to find a gap in the Blasters’ defence, but the hosts kept their shape and were able to keep the Marina Machans at bay.

It ends 2-2 then! Not the result CFC wanted as it was a must-win game for them whereas OFC won't really mind this result. However, the draw is a fair result in the end. Both teams played brilliantly and it was quite an entertaining game. The sides entered the second half 1-1.
It was OFC who took the lead early in the second half but CFC did not take long to find the equalizer. CFC then kept attacking, Abdenasser El Khayati caused a lot of problems. He also hit the post once and forced Amrinder Singh to make a few saves. OFC failed to create a lot of clear cut chances but were strong at the back. They will be happy to get a point from here and it is a well-deserved one.
An excellent first half of football. It was CFC who started brilliantly and kept up the good work but all against the run of play OFC found the lead through Diego Mauricio. CFC though were quick to square things through Thapa. Minutes later OFC again had a chance to take the lead as Isak Vanlalruatfela tried to score through a deflection but his goal was ruled out due to offside.
As things went on, both teams shared the possession and ended without much to separate. Still, we feel it is CFC who will be the happier side. Both teams are fragile at the back so it shouldn't surprise if we see more goals in the second half.

Bengaluru FC struck a massive blow to fellow playoff aspirants Chennaiyin FC, sealing three points with a 3-1 win at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday. The win, their fourth in a row, put them into the top six for the first time since Matchweek 2 of the season, and created a five-point cushion between themselves and Chennaiyin FC.
A first half full of errors allowed the home team to stamp their authority on the game. Sivasakthi Narayanan led the charge for Bengaluru FC, pouncing on a well weighted chip from Roy Krishna who was back defending a corner in the 15th minute. Sivasakthi began his run from his own half but used his pace and touch to set up a one-on-one with goalkeeper Samik Mitra, before slotting it into his near post.
Seven minutes later, Sivasakthi was lurking as Jiteshwor Singh fumbled a sideways pass in the centre of Chennaiyin FC's defense. The forward was on hand to steal the ball, keep his composure, and chip it over the on-rushing keeper.
Just past the half-hour mark, it was Rohit Kumar's turn to do the same, as he intercepted Mitra's feeble pass towards Julius Duker who was facing his own goal. After a brief tussle, Rohit emerged with the ball and passed it into the net from between Mitra's legs as he rushed out. Not long after, Mitra's fluffed clearance straight into Sivasakthi gave him the opportunity to complete a hat-trick, but the central defenders had tracked back to block him.
Chennaiyin FC came out for the second half with three personnel changes, a change in formation, and a lot more intent. One of the substitutes, Edwin Vanspaul, found himself free on the right side of the box after Jiteshwor won a midfield duel and played him in - he wrapped his left foot around the ball to curl it past Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to make it 3-1 in the 59th minute.
From there, the visitors applied plenty of pressure with two strikers up front, and Peter Sliskovic was on the end of one of the best chances created during that period, but kicked wide on the turn. A minute later, another loose ball fell for Vanspaul left-footed curler narrowly missed the post.
Entering the final 15 minutes of the game, it was still Chennaiyin FC on top in the second half, and a quick move down the left allowed Ninthoi a free shot at the goal inside the box, but Sandhu's reflex save kept Bengaluru FC's lead intact.
Bengaluru FC's only big chance of the half came in the 84th minute, when substitute Bruno Ramires' first touch was a thundering volley that Mitra pushed away. A few more nervy moments came in stoppage time, but the Blues managed to hold on for a crucial result.
They moved into sixth place with 22 points, with a trip to ATK Mohun Bagan next on February 5. For Chennaiyin FC, it was a sixth consecutive game without a win after their 7-3 result against NorthEast United FC in December. They host Odisha FC on February 2 in what could become a must-win game.

Chennaiyin FC played their third consecutive draw, sharing spoils in a goalless game against ATK Mohun Bagan in the Hero Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. In terms of playoff moves, both Chennaiyin FC and ATK Mohun Bagan gained no significant advantage through this result.
Three minutes into the game, Liston Colaco danced his way past Ajith Kumar down the left flank, but the low cross into the box was intercepted by Julius Duker. A minute later, Brendan Hamill got in front of the Chennaiyin FC defence and side-footed Dimitrios Petratos’ corner straight at Samik Mitra.
The best chance of the first half came near the 20-minute mark and fell to Chennaiyin FC. Ajith’s cross from the right flank sailed over the Mariners’ defence and landed at the feet of an unmarked Anirudh Thapa. The midfielder took a touch before firing his shot wide from close range.
Closing in on the half-hour mark, at the other end, Hamill had another chance to put his side in front when Petratos’ inch-perfect delivery from a freekick came straight to the defender. With the goal at his mercy, Hamill headed it wide at the far post as both sides went into the break with the deadlock intact.
Two minutes into the second half, Colaco played a clever give-and-go with Boumous near the edge of the box before getting his shot away from an acute angle. Mitra produced a block at the near post to keep his side in the game. Five minutes later, Vishal Kaith parried Duker’s freekick effort away before Sliskovic failed to do anything with the rebound.
In the 76th minute, shortly after coming on, Edwin Vanspaul’s audacious effort from outside the box was palmed away at full stretch by Vishal Kaith. Five minutes from time, Vincy Barretto cut inside from the left flank and unleashed a powerful shot at goal from outside the box, but Kaith palmed it over the bar.
This was the story of the entire game. A mixture of good defending, goalkeeping and finishing that wasn’t clinical enough kept the score unchanged till the full-time whistle. Neither side looked content with a point but had to settle for it. The result came as another missed opportunity in the playoff race for the hosts - they sit in eighth place, two points behind Bengaluru FC and three off the final playoff spot with a game in hand. The visitors continue to search for their first win of the new year and are a point behind Kerala Blasters who occupy third place.

A big important point for HFC. To be honest, it was not their best performance but they will take a point anyway rather than dropping all three. With that, their five match winning streak comes to an end.
After the goal from Petar Sliskovic, the tides were going one way and it looked like HFC will go home upset but a bit of luck helped them to win the penalty in the dying minutes which Bartholomew Ogbeche converted.
CFC will be disappointed knowing they had the game covered but also a 1-0 scoreline always is fragile. In the end, it turned out to be shaky as they will look as two points dropped.

Chennaiyin FC went 2-0 down before staging a second-half comeback against Jamshedpur FC to seal a 2-2 draw at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. In a game where a win would have put them one point off the final playoff spot, Chennaiyin FC were kept at bay by the home side despite dominating possession and creating more chances, and had to ultimately settle for a point.
Jamshedpur FC took the lead in the 17th minute thanks to a finely worked team goal. Rafael Crivellaro played a give-and-go with Daniel Chukwu before threading a fine through ball onto the path of Ritwik Das, whose shot crawled past Samik Mitra.
The second came right at the stroke of the half-time whistle. This time, Sangwan was at the end of the corner. He couldn’t get the proper connection, and his glancing header hit the post. Edwin Vanspaul also had a busy half. He worked with Vishal Yadav twice, which included an excellent volleyed effort in the 26th minute. Yadav was alert to both efforts and positioned himself well to deny the Chennaiyin FC midfielder.
Das got his second of the night in the 57th minute with a brilliant individual effort. Once again, the goal came against the run of play. Das received the ball on the left wing, went on the outside before cutting back in, and curled the ball into the top corner. There was a clinical edge to Jamshedpur FC’s performance.
Vincy Barretto, who had looked quite lively all game, got one back for Chennaiyin FC in the 60th minute with a calmly placed bottom-corner finish. It wasn’t the cleanest of sequences – there was a deflection and ricochet in the lead-up to the goal before the ball found its way to Barretto.
Chennaiyin FC levelled the scores in the 68th minute. Aakash Sangwan played a great cross from the left wing once again, and Petar Sliskovic got ahead of his man to slot the ball home with a deflected effort. There was no grand finish, however. Both sides had a few half chances before the final whistle was blown but had to ultimately settle for a 2-2 draw.

Mumbai City FC registered their second comeback win over Chennaiyin FC this season in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai on Saturday. Petar Sliskovic broke the deadlock in the 34th minute before Lallianzuala Chhangte equalised four minutes later. Greg Stewart scored in the 57th minute, to make it 2-1 as the Islanders returned to the top of the table.
The hosts fielded an unchanged XI, while the visitors made one change in goal as Debjit Majumder was replaced by Samik Mitra. Abdenasser El Khayati was the major absentee for Chennaiyin FC, missing the game due to an injury.
Four minutes past the hour-mark, Mourtada Fall was caught on the ball before giving it straight to Julius Duker. The midfielder instantly played it through to Sliskovic, who calmly slotted the ball past Phurba Lachenpa as the Marina Machans broke the deadlock against the Islanders for the second time this season.
Fall redeemed himself for the error that led to the goal just four minutes later as he headed Ahmed Jahouh’s freekick, from near the halfway line, back across the face of goal on the edge of the box, where Chhangte was lurking. The winger cushioned the ball with his left foot before firing a volley past Mitra with his right.
The comeback was complete in the second half when Bipin Singh whipped a low cross in from the left before Jorge Diaz’s back-heel flick caught the Chennaiyin FC defence wrong-footed. The ball went straight into the path of a charging Stewart, who smashed it in from close range.
In the 80th minute, Mitra was at full stretch to deny Stewart a brace from a free-kick near the edge of the box. Chennaiyin FC knocked on the door on multiple occasions but were unable to create anything substantial.

A tightly contested 1-1 draw between Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters FC spelt the end of the latter's five-match winning streak in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Monday. Sahal Abdul Samad had put the Blasters in front in the first half before Vincy Barreto returned to score against his former club with an equaliser in the second.
Midway through the first half, Kaliuzhnyi spotted Samad’s run and played a sublime through ball into the path of the winger. Majumder came off his line in an effort to close the angle for Samad, but the 25-year-old cleverly dinked it over the charging keeper to score his third goal of the season.
In the 27th minute, Vanspaul curled a promising cross into the box from the left flank and Duker was set to score before Nishu Kumar’s crucial intercepting header put the ball out for a corner.
Three minutes into the second half, half-time substitute Ali was picked out in the box by an inch-perfect ball from Vanspaul. The striker’s first-time volley was parried straight into the path of Baretto by Prabhsukhan Gill. From close range, the midfielder smashed it home against his former club.
In the 81st minute, substitute El Khayati shrugged off his marker in midfield and slid a ball through to Sliskovic down the right flank. As Anirudh Thapa darted inside the box, Sliskovic scuffed his cross, and the ball went out for a goal kick. That signaled the end of any major attacking moves from either team in the final few minutes of the game.

Chennaiyin FC put in a breathtaking performance on the road in a ten-goal torrent, coming out as 7-3 victors over NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Midfielder Abdenasser El Khayati pulled all the strings for the Marina Machans, bagging a hat-trick and two assists, to set a new Hero ISL record for most goal contributions in a match.
El Khayati opened the scoring in the game, putting his team 1-0 up in the 11th minute before the Highlanders equalised, and then sealed his hat-trick with goals on either side of the half-time whistle.
Petar Sliskovic also had a fine game up front for Chennaiyin FC with a brace, with one of his goals set up by El Khayati. Julius Duker was the other beneficiary of El Khayati's stellar show, bagging a 68th minute goal to wrap up a near-perfect attacking performance. Joe Zoherliana (79’) had a night to forget, guiding the ball into his own net to give Chennaiyin FC their seventh goal of the evening.
New NorthEast United FC head coach Vincenzo Annese was taking charge of his team for the first time following the departure of Marco Balbul. It was a difficult start to his time in charge, but there were some positives to take back from the game. Wilmar Gil Jordan was on target for NorthEast United FC from the penalty spot and Romain Philippoteaux smashed in a great volley in the second-half. Rochharzela added another goal for the Highlanders five minutes into stoppage time. But ultimately, all of it came much too late.
Their early momentum was disrupted by El Khayati, who got on the end of an excellent cut-back from Prasanth K from the right flank. Khayati’s guided volley effort set the tone for his performance.
El Khayati, Sliskovic, and Rahim Ali were a constant threat with El Khayati getting his second four minutes after Jordan’s equaliser, and Sliskovic getting his first just before half-time. El Khayati’s second was a brilliant bending effort. Sliskovic’s brace included two headers, with his first coming from an excellent near-post run. Chennaiyin FC were heading into the second-half with a 3-1 lead.
Whatever resolve NorthEast United FC had earlier in the game was lost quite early in the second with El Khayati completing his hat-trick three minutes into the second-half with a driven effort from range. Sliskovic made it 5-1 for Chennaiyin FC in the 57th minute with another thumping header. Julius Duker joined the party 11 minutes later to put Chennaiyin FC 6-1 ahead. The next three goals in the game all came from NorthEast United FC, two in their favor and one in Chennaiyin's.

Hyderabad FC returned to winning ways after back-to-back defeats as they beat Chennaiyin FC 3-1 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. Halicharan Narzary, Chinglensana Singh, and substitute Borja Herrera struck in the second half to push the defending champions back into second place.
Chennaiyin FC made four changes that saw Gurmukh Singh, Vincy Barretto, Edwin Vanspaul, and Abdenasser El Khayati coming in as Vafa Hakhamaneshi, Sajal Bag, and Sourav Das, Jockson Dhas were left out. A couple of changes for the visitors saw Joel Chianese and Halicharan Narzary return to the lineup, as Borja Herrera was benched and Reagan Singh was not in the squad.
Hyderabad FC almost got their noses in front in first-half stoppage time. Nikhil Poojary crossed the ball from the right flank before Fallou Diagne beat Chianese to it. However, a clearance went straight to Narzary, whose shot rattled the crossbar.
Five minutes past the hour-mark, the deadlock was broken with a superb strike from Narzary. Hyderabad FC’s short corner routine saw Chennaiyin FC tackle the ball straight into the path of Narzary, who wrapped his boot around it and buried it into the back of the net. Moments after the opening goal, Chennaiyin FC were reduced to ten men when right-back Ajith was shown a second yellow in the 71st minute.
Approaching the game's final quarter, the visitors doubled their advantage thanks to Chinglensana Singh’s close-range volley. Another corner was not cleared properly by Chennaiyin FC as they only cleared it as far as Chinglensana, who smashed it into the goal from close range in the 74th minute.
Four minutes later, the Marina Machans pulled one back when El Khayati’s cross from the left was headed in from close range by Petar Sliskovic. However, the joy was short-lived as the men in yellow re-established their two-goal advantage seven minutes later. Substitute Borja Herrera picked the ball out of the air at the edge of the box and fired it into the top-left corner.

Chennaiyin FC earned their first victory at home this season with a 3-1 win over Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, today. Petar Sliskovic broke the deadlock in the first half before Ishan Pandita equalised in the final quarter. Substitutes Vincy Baretto and Abdenasser El Khayati struck late for the Marina Machans as Jamshedpur notched up three consecutive losses for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
Daniel Chukwu, Laldinpuia Pachuau, and Laldinliana Renthlei were all out injured for Jamshedpur, while Harry Sawyer dropped to the bench. Farukh Choudhary, Wellington Priori, Muhammed Uvais, and Pandita were all drafted into the starting lineup. The injury-riddled Red Miners were dealt another injury blow in the 16th minute when Priori was stretchered off.
To make things worse, Jamshedpur went behind in the 27th minute. Julius Duker played a through ball to Dhas, who galloped forward in acres of space before getting his shot away. The midfielder’s attempt was parried by the keeper straight to Sliskovic, who stayed alert and headed the ball home from close range.
The game burst into life in the final quarter of the match. In the 76th minute, Sawyer flicked the ball on with his head towards the box as Pandita met it with a well-struck volley to level the score. The lead did not last long as Chennaiyin substitutes - El Khayati and Baretto - combined in the very next minute to put the Marina Machans ahead again.
El Khayati whipped in a cross from the left flank and Baretto took it on the volley with his first touch of the match. There was enough time for El Khayati to bag a goal for himself - the Dutch midfielder sold a dummy to Peter Hartley before slotting the ball in at the near post five minutes from time to wrap up the win.

It rained goals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai as Mumbai City FC came from behind to beat Chennaiyin FC 6-2 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). Mumbai City FC found six different goalscorers, three of them coming off the bench, after falling 2-0 behind just past the half-an-hour mark.
The Marina Arena erupted in the 19th minute when Petar Sliskovic put the hosts in front. Sangwan’s delivery from the corner came off Rahul Bheke before reaching Rahim Ali. The striker lobbed the ball across the face of goal and Sliskovic headed it in from close range as the Islanders conceded the first goal of the match for the first time this season.
In the 32nd minute, the Marina Machans doubled their lead. Sliskovic ran at Mehtab Singh before rolling it towards El Khayati. The Dutchman’s first shot was blocked by Mehtab, but the rebound was slotted in perfectly at the near post.
In the next minute Mumbai’s deficit was down to one. The Islanders swarmed forward as Stewart whipped the ball in from the right flank. Diaz beat his marker and headed the ball past Debjit Majumder to make it 2-1.
In first-half stoppage time, Lalengmawia Ralte beat Debjit to the ball and was taken out in the process. The referee pointed to the spot and booked the keeper. Stewart stepped up to take it and sent Debjit the wrong way to reinstate parity in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
At half-time, Des Buckingham made two changes with Vinit Rai and Vignesh Dakshinamurthy coming on for Ralte and Dessai. The game turned on its head four minutes into the second half. Bipin pulled the ball back towards the edge of the box and Rai smashed it in with his first attempt at goal.
The visitors struck again at the hour-mark and established a two-goal cushion. Ahmed Jahouh’s corner was cleared only as far as Dakshinamurthy at the edge of the box. The defender put his boot through it and found the back of the net.
The Islanders’ third substitution of the evening, Alberto Noguera, also got on the scoresheet in the 65th minute. The Spaniard received the ball from Bipin and a powerful shot picked up a deflection off Diagne to sneak in at the far post. Bipin was in the action again at the very end, skipping past the defence and tucked the ball into the net to become Mumbai City FC’s leading goalscorer with 16 goals.

With two wins in two, FC Goa go to the top of the table and are the only team with a 100% win record this season. Redeem Tlang scored in the 11th minute and Noah Sadaoui wrapped it up for the Gaurs in the 92nd minute.
It did not take long for the match's first goal as FC Goa took the lead in the 10th minute. Sadaoui found himself at the end of a beautiful long pass from the middle third. The Moroccan was marked tightly by Fallou Diagne, but he used his quick feet to put a cross in from the left before Redeem Tlang nodded the ball into the net.
Attackers from both sides were kept at bay till the 90-minute mark. Twelve minutes were added on to account for a stoppage due to Dheeraj Singh's injury treatment as the hosts swarmed forward. However, that left them vulnerable at the back, and the Gaurs quickly capitalized on that. In the second minute of stoppage time, Sadaoui put the game to bed with a composed finish.

Arch-rivals Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC had to settle for a point each in their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) encounter that ended 1-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Roy Krishna scored inside five minutes to give the Blues an early advantage but Prasanth Karuthadathkuni scored at the stroke of half-time to restore parity. The Marina Machans finished the game with ten men after goalkeeper Debjit Majumder was sent-off late in the second half.
It did not take long for the first goal as Roy Krishna silenced the stands of the Marina Arena in the fourth minute. From the right flank, Siva Narayanan bent a cross into the box with the outside of his right foot. Krishna nestled the ball into the Chennayin FC net with a sublime glancing header. From there on, it was the home team that took control of the game for large parts of the game.
In the 26th minute, Karuthadathkuni wriggled into the Bengaluru FC box before getting thwarted by the defence. The ricochet flew towards Petar Sliskovic who rattled the crossbar with a close-range volley. Less than five minutes later, Krishna went down in the box, under pressure from Fallou Diagne. The striker was livid after the referee did not point to the spot.
Iranian defender Vafa Hakhamaneshi took over goal keeping duties for Chennaiyin FC till the full-time whistle. In the third minute of stoppage time, Karikari sprinted towards the Bengaluru goal before firing his shot high. The Marina Machans will stay in Chennai for their next game against FC Goa on 21st October, Friday.
